Kua wātea te tūranga Pouhere Kaupapa Māori ki Te Rito Maioha nei. Ko tōna mahi, he whakahaere, he ārahina, he whakangungu, he tohutohu i ngā āhuatanga Māori katoa. Ka mahi ngātahi ai te tangata nei ki te taha o te Pou Whakahaere, kia whakatutuki ai ōna wawata, ā, kia whakakanohi hoki i ngā tikanga, i ngā kawa, i ngā whakaaro Māori nō roto mai i ngā mahi katoa o te tōpūtanga nei.

Te Rito Maioha is a bicultural tertiary education and membership organisation committed to high-quality, culturally grounded teacher education. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role:
We’re searching for a values-led Māori leader to join us as Pouhere Kaupapa Māori — a key strategic role that ensures Māori and Pasifika perspectives are at the heart of all we do.
As Pouhere, you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of Māori and Pasifika strategies
- Champion bicultural integrity and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Guide staff in tikanga and culturally responsive practices
- Influence the development of academic programmes through a bicultural lens
- Build strong relationships with iwi, hapū, Māori organisations and communities
- Maintain close liaison with government agencies and external sector stakeholders
- Contribute as an active and respected member of our Senior Leadership Team
Mōu | About You:
We are looking for someone with deep cultural grounding, strong leadership and advisory experience, and a passion for equity, education, and transformation.
- Hold a PhD qualification in Education, Te Ao Māori, or a related field
- Research-active with a proven track record
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior leadership level
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally
