Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | The opportunity
We are currently seeking a passionate Healthcare Tutor with industry experience to join our teaching team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of healthcare professionals and will involve teaching our Level 7 programmes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare and a dedication to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of healthcare staff.
The role will be based at our Auckland, New Lynn campus This is a permanent role (40 hours) per week. Classes are run during the day and evenings.
Key focus areas
- Planning and delivering courses using effective and engaging teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students and course content and aligned with the NZSE Teaching and Learning Plan
- Design and develop course content and assessments as per NZQA standards
- Ensuring all assessments, including tests are completed as per the requirements of the course including marking, feedback, moderation, reassessment and rescheduling within required timeframe
- Industry stakeholder engagement, organising guest speakers and internships
- Participating in and working on research projects
- Face-to-face and online delivery of classes
Ko koe tēnei | About you
- Previous experience in teaching at a tertiary level in Healthcare
- Minimum of a Master’s qualification
- Teaching experience in New Zealand preferred within a PTE setting
- Research active preferred
- Experience with using assessment, evaluation and review processes to ensure continuous improvement
- Previous experience developing programmes and courses on the NZQA framework
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 or above or willing to work towards
- Experience with New Zealand aged care facilities.
