KidsCan, a leading not-for-profit organisation in New Zealand, is seeking a talented Content and Communications Specialist to join their team.

This role offers the opportunity to utilise your specialist writing skills to drive customer engagement through compelling content and manage communication projects.

What you'll do:

As a Content and Communications Specialist at KidsCan, you will play a pivotal role in creating and implementing effective copy and communications. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading the creation of communication materials, developing social media strategies, managing the production of the annual report, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms, and collaborating with various teams to deliver effective campaigns. Your commitment to KidsCan's mission and values will drive your work as you strive to make a positive impact on children's lives.

  • Lead the creation of communication materials for all teams within KidsCan.
  • Write and edit customer-centric content tailored to various channels.
  • Develop the KidsCan Social Media strategy & manage all scheduling & production of content across social media channels.
  • Write and project manage the development and production of the annual report.
  • Ensure all communications and market presence align with KidsCan’s brand guidelines, tone and content pillars.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to develop and deliver effective campaigns.
  • Commitment to KidsCan's mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact on children's lives.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Content and Communications Specialist role at KidsCan brings a wealth of experience in communications, marketing or content development roles. With a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field under your belt, you have honed exceptional writing and editing skills over 3+ years in the industry. Your experience in brand management ensures consistency across all communications and marketing materials. You are adept at using digital platforms such as AI Tools, Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, website CMS. Your strong project management skills enable you to lead campaigns from inception to completion.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, PR, journalism, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or content development roles.
  • Experience in brand management and ensuring consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
  • Experience using digital platforms (AI Tools, Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, website CMS).
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ideally experience using Sprout Social or similar.
  • Experience managing a content DAM.
