We are seeking a Practice Manager for a large Community Health Hub
in the heart of Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt, New Zealand

We are currently seeking an energetic and proactive Practice Manager to fill a full-time position at Whai Oranga Community Health Hub, a well-established community health centre located in Wainuiomata. Joining our close-knit team will provide you with the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of our patients and to become an essential part of our community.
About the Practice:
Our team includes a Community Board, Management Team, Clinical Lead, and a range of healthcare professionals such as GP’s, nurses, and specialists. We also partner with external services including pharmacists, physiotherapists, social workers and more. Additionally, we have two nearby pharmacies and a blood clinic on site, providing a comprehensive range of services to our patients.
Whai Oranga is also a member of the Tākiri Mai te Ata (Tākiri Mai) Whānau Ora Collective (http://www.takirimai.org.nz/), the largest Whānau Ora Collective in the Hutt Valley.
Set right next to a large picturesque park in a semi-rural location, our health centre sits uniquely on large grounds with food gardens and fruit trees and only a 2 minute walk to local cafes, supermarket, shops and a park.
About the Role:
Essential Skills:
1. Strong leadership and management skills: ability to lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and other support staff.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders, including healthcare providers and community organizations
Organizational and time management skills: ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
4. Clinical knowledge and understanding: a solid understanding of general practice operations, healthcare policy, and clinical best practices, and a background in financial business management an advantage.
5. Technical skills: proficiency in practice management software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant technologies.
6. Problem-solving and analytical skills: ability to analyse problems, identify solutions, and implement change management processes.
7. Cultural competence and sensitivity: ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including a large Māori and Pacific enrolled population.
