Reporting into the Chief Executive and a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief People, Safety & Wellbeing Officer will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and promotion of NZR’s strategies, business directions, annual plans and budgets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a world-class People, Safety & Wellbeing function for the NZR Group alongside providing a platform where employee engagement thrives.

Key Responsibilities:

This pivotal role is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader with credible strategic partnership skills to foster and develop strong working relationships with New Zealand Rugby Leaders and Managers as well as key external stakeholders including Super Rugby Clubs and Provincial Unions. Your influencing skills will be second to none, implementing change and driving a continuous improvement culture that will resonate throughout the organisation.


What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience and success at a senior management level with over 10 years' experience in a senior leadership role
• Experience working with and reporting to Board of Directors
• Demonstrated success in leading a human resources/people function
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant human resources, employment law, health and safety and people policies and practices
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders
• Exceptional communications, influencing and persuasion skills
